Professor Richard Dawkins is a rum old cove, isn’t he? Travelling the world poking cold fun at spiritual belief systems and impatiently explaining why everyone is wrong, it’s rare that he gets the chance to cut loose and show his own creative side. I mean when was the last time you saw the Prof jamming out some fat riffs and kicking back with some cutting edge computer graphics? Never, that’s when.
Which is why we welcome this video so wholeheartedly. Filmed in Cannes over the weekend, it’s the introduction to the Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors’ Showcase 2013, and as you will see, it starts off as an easily comprehended illustration of the evolution of memes. But then…
…well it’s kind of hard to say WHAT happens then.
Except that I think I’ve seen this movie before, and it ended less like a new age presentation on the joy of mental yogic flying and more like an attempt to brainwash Derek Zoolander into being a ninja assassin.
Don’t look directly at the memes, man.
