‘Doctor Who’ Alum Karen Gillan Joins Adult Swim’s ‘NTSF:SD:SUV::’

Karen Gillan continues to add credits to her post-Amy Pond career. The former Doctor Who companion has joined the cast of Adult Swim’s live-action terrorism drama spoof NTSF:SD:SUV:: as Daisy, a Quartermaster-like tech expert, Deadline reports. The series has begun filming its third season in Los Angeles and London, which is set to return in July.

Created by the adorably gap-toothed comedian Paul Scheer, NTSF:SD:SUV:: (which stands for National Terrorism Strike Force: San Diego: Sport Utility Vehicle) airs in 15-minute installments and stars Scheer as a kick-ass government agent Trent Hauser. Rebecca Romijn and an eye-patched Kate Mulgrew also star.

Gillan, who left Doctor Who at the end of Season 7′s fifth episode alongside on-screen hubby Arthur Darvill (Rory), has already completed two other post-Who projects: the rom-com Not Another Happy Ending and the horror film Oculus.
