You know when you see shops with signs that sing “Best Coffee in the World” and you think to yourself, “Wait a minute … who decided that?” Well, in this case a Welsh hotel has been voted “Best in World” for service and it appears to be legit.

The £35-a-night Lauriston Court Hotel, a North Wales hotel in Llandudno, has won the title of “World’s Best Hotel for Service” for TripAdvisor’s 2013 Travelers’ Choice Hotel Awards, reports BBC News.

“We’re thrilled to be recognized as the world’s best hotel for service by TripAdvisor’s travelers,” said Lauriston Court Hotel owners Carol-Lynn and Ian Robbins.

The owners of the 11 room hotel continued on saying, “It’s not a job for us, it’s our life – it’s just what we enjoy doing.”

Now in its 11th year, the Travelers’ Choice Award is based on millions of reviews and opinions covering more than 650,000 hotels collected in a single year from travelers around the world.

TripAdvisor spokesperson, Emma Shaw commented on the UK’s popularity saying, “Yet again, Britain’s B&Bs continue to be celebrated as some of the very best in the world, and for a British hotel to beat over 650,000 others to be named number one in the world for service really is something to be proud of.”

The Lauriston Court Hotel owners said they try to anticipate customers’ needs and help them upon arrival.
