Ahead of its release in theaters Friday (December 14) during previews attached to the The Hobbit, Warner Bros. has digitally released the trailer for Man of Steel — 300 director Zack Snyder‘s reboot of the Superman tale starring British Tudors star Henry Cavill. The nearly two-and-a-half minute clip has a decidedly somber War of the Worlds-meets-The Dark Knight tone (unsurprisingly, since Christopher Nolan is producing). Take a look and see what you think. Spoiler, but Cavill, who underwent a 300-inspired body transformation for the part, is both shirtless and on fire at 1:49.
