Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen was reminded by his peers that he is indeed still funny winning the top prize at the British Comedy Awards in London on Wednesday, December 12 reports BBC News.
The award comes thirteen years after his first win at the award ceremony for best newcomer.
Cohen put on a gold jumpsuit and his alter ego Ali G to accept the Outstanding Achievement in Comedy prize from Hugo co-star Sir Ben Kinglsey who said of the comedic actor, “It gives me such great pleasure to present this award to a man whose clowning, whose satire and sheer balls of steel put him above everyone else.”
Cohen accepted the award in character telling the audience, “Unfortunately Sacha Baron Cohen ain’t here. She probably thinks she’s too big for these awards. Well, I definitely ain’t!”
The camera panned to his Australian wife actress Isla Fisher (Bachelorette) who was in the audience clapping, laughing and totally supporting her unedited husband.
