Many’s the iconic presence that once appeared to be a permanent fixture in everyone’s lives but now struggles to take their notoriety and do anything worthwhile with it. Some can’t handle the transition, and lose themselves in drink or drugs, some simply turn their back on the world and start life afresh. But none of them escape unscathed.

So, huge thanks to YouTuber somegreybloke for tracking down one of the biggest stars of the ’80s, and convincing him to break cover once more, to stick his head above the parapet and tell his sad story.
