The Fox network is developing an American version of the hugely popular BBC comedy Gavin and Stacey that revolves around a couple’s long-distance relationship between England and Wales, reports BBC News.
Series creators/writers/co-stars BAFTA and Tony Award-Winning James Corden (Smithy) and Ruth Jones (Nessa) are on board to executive produce.
Gavin & Stacey began its life-cycle as an online series, ultimately finding its home on BBC One. The show depicts instant love between Gavin (Mathew Horne) and Stacey (Joanna Page); as well as an instant hate-turned-lust between Smithy (Corden) and Nessa (Jones); not to forget the ridiculousness of their overzealous families.
