BBC America Receives Five CableFAX Nods, Including ‘Doctor Who’ for Best Sci-Fi
‘Doctor Who’…CableFAX nominee.
BBC AMERICA has earned five CableFAX Program Award nominations to match its five Emmy nominations this year. Luther, the multiple Emmy-nominated miniseries starring Idris Elba, is nominated for Best Show or Series – Drama, while two BBC AMERICA original series, No Kitchen Required and Richard Hammond’s Crash Course, compete against each other in the Best Show or Series Reality – Professions category. The channel’s Saturday night chatfest, The Graham Norton Show, is up for Best Talk Show.
And, yes, Doctor Who, fresh off its record-breaking U.S. ratings for its seventh season premiere, has received a nomination for Best Sci-Fi Series against SyFy’s Warehouse 13 and TNT’s Falling Skies.
Also, congrats are in order for The Hour‘s Dominic West, who is nominated for Best Actor in Cable for his performance in Appropriate Adult. And History Channel’s Top Gear, produced by BBC Worldwide Productions, is shortlisted in the Best Series – Other field.
