Well this is all rather sudden. No sooner has the transmission date for Doctor Who Series 7 (part one, Asylum of the Daleks) been announced – Saturday, September 1 at 9/8c, since you ask. More details (and a few spoilers, so tread carefully) here – than a brand new trailer emerges taking what we all thought we already knew about the next five episodes, and mixing it up a bit.

Hints that Amy and Rory are weary of the Time Lord life? The return of River Song? A speech about defending the Earth?
