The countdown has begun! The 2012 Games will be held from July 27 to August 12 in London, England. It will be quite an event with 14,700 athletes competing, 21,000 media outlets and 10.8 million ticket-holders in attendance.
The home turf advantage may prove useful to Team Great Britian providing familiar comforts and the joys of London. But, of course, they can’t lean on that. Every day counts as the athletes continue their rigorous training sessions, preparing physically and mentally.
BBC America takes a look at Ten of the Top Olympic Athletes, the best of the best, representing the UK. Check out their plans for the upcoming games!
