It’s difficult to write about this destination restaurant without getting hungry, and be warned that you’re likely work up a considerable appetite raising the money to eat here. But if you can get into this award-winning Notting Hill restaurant – two Michelin stars, a place in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list – they’ll take good care of you. Really good care of you: during last summer’s rioting, reported the Telegraph, when looters and robbers invaded during dinner, the staff fought back with kitchen tools, including rolling pins, to defend customers, whom they shepherded into the wine cellar for protection.
