It’s always encouraging when you discover that someone you admire also shares one of your passions (see Shonda Rhimes‘ love for Doctor Who.) But we were stoked last night (July 30) when we learned, during NBC’s coverage of the Olympics, that American gold medalist swimmer Missy Franklin is a full-on British culture lover who is even a member of her high school Anglophile club. (The 17-year-old star must be in heaven right now in London, that shiny new charm around her neck notwithstanding.) Photographic evidence of said Anglophile club has been uncovered via Tumblr.

(We here at Anglophenia are totally jealous: if we’d belonged to an Anglophile Club in high school, we’d be a lot less maladjusted.)
