UK Prime Minister’s Daughter’s 15 Minutes of Fame
David Cameron -- Prime Minister and Dad (Gareth Fuller/PA Wire)
British Prime Minister David Cameron’s 8-year-old daughter Nancy now has something to hold over her father’s head having been mistakenly left behind for 15 minutes after a Sunday brunch in Cadsen, west of London. Just imagine if she wants to go play with her mates and her parents say, “No.” All she has to do is say, “Remember that time you forgot me at a pub?” It works every time.
The Associated Press reports, “Cameron, who was traveling in one car with his bodyguards, assumed Nancy was in the other car with his wife, Samantha, and two other children. Samantha assumed Nancy was with David.”
In a statement, Cameron’s Downing Street office said “the prime minister and Samantha were distraught when they realized Nancy wasn’t with them. Thankfully when they phoned the pub she was there safe and well.”
Cameron’s office said the incident occurred “a couple months ago.”
UK Communities Secretary Eric Pickles told the BBC, “It could happen to anybody. It must be any family’s nightmare.”
