The Spice Girls: What Do They Really, Really Want NOW?
The Spice Girls 2012 (Rex Features via AP Images)
Yep, here’s a family photo you possibly didn’t expect to see again (for a while at least). It’s the five Spice Girls, on the same hotel steps their viciously tall shoes treated so aggressively in for the “Wannabe” video, for the launch of their West End musical Viva Forever.
The script was written by Jennifer Saunders, who created a story that weaves together as many Spice hits as she could manage, while still hanging onto a coherent narrative. Rather than being about the girls themselves, Viva Forever is the story of one girl, her dreams of success with a pop band, and her relationship with her mum, on a houseboat.
Here’s a brief video explaining what’s what:
Make sure, if you’re ordering tickets and the Box Office asks which aisle you’d you like to sit in, that you say “I wannabe, please.”
