Copper
Kevin Ryan and Tom Weston-Jones in BBC America's 'Copper'
Starring: Tom Weston-Jones (MI-5); Anastasia Griffith (Trauma); Kevin Ryan (Raw), Franka Potente (Run Lola Run)
Network: BBC America
Series Premiere: Sunday, August 19 at 10/9c
What to Expect: No, no, this has nothing to do with the soft malleable metal. How about we use the word in a sentence, “You can’t get me you dirty copper!” BBCA’s first original drama is based in 1864 invoking the grit and lawlessness of Gangs of New York with a multifaceted look at the communities who populated Manhattan at the time. The team of Barry Levinson and Tom Fontana bring the story to life. British MI-5 alum Tom Weston-Jones stars as tenacious Irish-American cop Kevin Corcoran, while UK-born actress Anastasia Griffith portrays Elizabeth Haverford, a sophisticated and savvy British society lady in New York.
