Adele: I’m Expecting My First Child

Adele‘s 2012 has been jam-packed with awards and milestones – six Grammys, a Billboard award, the record-breaking sales of her sophomore album 21, and her inclusion on Time Magazine’s “most influential people” list. But today, the British singer-songwriter has announced news that eclipses all of the above: she’s going to be a mother.

Adele announced on her website that she and her boyfriend Simon Konecki are expecting their first child. She wrote: “I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx.”

So, can we expect an album of sweet lullabies instead of caustic takedowns of ne’er-do-well ex-lovers on her follow-up to 21?
