Would You Like To Ride In A Lickable Elevator?
Remember a short while ago we were talking about Jaffa Cakes, and there was the video Dominic Wilcox made where he created works of art by nibbling the little cookie-cakey-biscuity things into interesting shapes?
Well McVities, the company that makes Jaffa Cakes, has gone one better. Taking an edible leaf out of Willy Wonka’s book (the first one, not the second), they’ve covered an elevator in a London office block with lickable wallpaper that tastes chocolatey and orangey.
There are 1,325 lickable Jaffa Cakes on the walls of the elevator (we’d call it a lift, but let’s not get into that right now) and McVities say it took their food boffins four weeks to create.
Philippa Tilley from McVitie’s said: “We are all about bringing a bit more fun to life and this was the perfect way to get a little joy straight to stressed out office workers.
I just hope they’re cleaning those walls regularly, or that is one business that is going to grind to a halt, once the bugs start to spread.
