Who Wants To
See Some Of
‘Sherlock’
Season Two?

Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in 'Sherlock'

We don’t want to spoil anything about the new series of Sherlock. We know it’s not hitting American TV until May, and we know how much you want to see it. So for us to say anything about, say, how brilliant the first episode may or may not have been (OMG IT WAS AMAZING) would just be annoying.

But if we could excise a clip from that first episode – A Scandal In Belgravia – which would not spoil the plot of the episode in any way, and would merely underline things you already know about the relationship between Holmes and Watson, well that would be all right, wouldn’t it?

Thought so. Here are our dynamic duo at work, using modern technology in an unorthodox fashion:

You are most welcome.

It’s quite upsetting that it’s only being aired on PBS. My local PBS station doesn’t AIR Sherlock at all. It depends on where you live, I guess, and I didn’t get lucky. Please move the show to BBC America, it would get much better ratings there… you know, where MORE people can watch it.

Season 3 just finished airing on BBC Canada. Don’t know if anyone in the U.S. can access it via satellite, but they’re playing them in reruns.

    (Brilliant episodes!!)

It seems pretty foolish for BBC America to have an embedded video link that BBC Worldwide blocks. Don’t you BBCs talk to each other? As for delaying broadcast from there to here: Yes, I know , you’re just paying back all of the US networks for doing the same nasty things to you all these years. But nowadays there are ways to get around that, so what you’re doing is encouraging subscribers to become illegal copiers instead of encouraging them to watch your advertisers and buy your DVDs.

And stop wasting BBC America air time on US-originated shows like Star Trek. Your goal should be to introduce more UK products to a US audience and bring money *home* rather than spend money *here*.

Sherlock Series 2 has been out in the UK for months but isn’t available in the US on Netflix, Xfinity, Hulu, Amazon Prime, iTunes, in stores or any other locale. It is available illegally. I wish to give you money for your product and you forbid it. Why?

You know this should be on US TV already. There are a lot of fans PATIENTLY waiting for this.

As law abiding British fans continue to drizzle out bits of the shows 32 seconds at a time, Americans are forced to find ever so creatively illegal ways to see their favorite boys on Baker Street. I am sick of spoilers that only give us enough information to want more. Thank you PBS for sending this out to those us of who can’t afford cable and don’t have BBC America but WHAT WERE ANY OF YOU THINKING when contracts were drawn up to put us on hold for 5 (154 days) months?!?!?!?!?!? Like Dickens’ children we must beg, “please sir, may we have some more?’

During the SOPA/PIPA arguments in the U.S., I used the BBC as an example of the two well-noted reasons for piracy. They are:

    1. Inaccessibility of desired content
    2. Exorbitant cost of desired content

When I spoke about the BBC in that way, I was in some part referring to the BBC’s main web site that has fully viewable static content no matter your location, but blocks videos without warning for international viewers. I was also speaking about the often long delays in gaining international access to shows (perhaps the most understandable issue involved in international trade), and increased import costs of even domestically produced materials (BBC America videos are, in fact packaged in America or in Mexico, but are still often higher priced than similar domestic videos). As the BBC is (rather profitably) represented in America by its station here, it seems that we Americans are being overcharged if a video is both high priced and bears the BBC America logo. In my opinion, BBC and BBC America could do much better at accommodating their very interested world market.

That said – The fact that Sherlock has been made available on Masterpiece Mystery follows a tradition of such british classics as Poirot, Marple, Rumpole and many, many more that – while originally produced by the BBC – were first made viewable for American audiences through PBS. I’m truly pleased that you’ve chosen to continue that tradition, especially since Sherlock is shot in mini series format, not as a running series. Simple accessibility has been a major downfall for the BBC in America. Putting a high-demand show onto a free channel is a good step in the right direction.

It is absolutely rediculous how they wont put it on netflix. It’s like someone offering to pay you for a job you so desperately need money from, and denying the job.

This is ridiculous. What a way to kill a fan base. I have been waiting, and waiting and still waiting for Sherlock season 2. Nada. Nothing. Why? Just get it on BBC America or Netflix or something.

Ditto with most of those above me.

I’m a major Holmesian fan, so when a friend directed me to this updated version I was skeptical at first. After the first episode though on Netflix, I was in love and thrilled at the mix of modern tech and Holmes’ quirks. (and a more proactive Watson)

That being said, when I went to check, I discovered that Netflix only had 3 episodes. From Season 1. Yet there’s 2 Seasons and a third on the way (at least, last I heard)

why is there not more on Netflix? I am quite willing to pay for streaming or DVDs off Netflix and give credit for the work put into making this series.

Why in the world would a company refuse money?? I’m normally an anti-piracy advocate. Don’t use torrents, cracked copies, etc. But you know….giving me three and nothing more makes that philosophy really difficult to abide by.

Please put the rest of them on Netflix. Clearly, there’s an audience just waiting to give out money.

Season 1 was only 3 episodes. They were fantastic, wonderful (90 minute) episodes but, alas, only 3. I first watched them streaming on Netflix over winter holidays. Luckily my PBS station did show them on Masterpiece a second time and I recorded them to my DVR, marking that they were not to be erased. I’ve watched each several times but I find more each time I watch. I think it might be time to watch again before season 2 gets started May 6th.

YAY Sherlock! Boo, season two is NOT on Netflix. I’m just saying that season one is on Netflix, so now they should just add season two. Just a thought. (:
