Thomas F. Wilson — call him Tom — is a comedian, a musician, and an artist. He is also primarily known by practically everyone by one name: Biff. Or Buford or Griff, but mostly Biff, his iconic bully character in the Back to the Future movies. He’s been in a lot of other things since then — recurring roles on Freaks and Geeks, Ed, The Ghost Whisperer, and other shows, a ton of voice work and guest roles — but he gets asked so many of the same questions about Back to the Future that he’s created a song, and a card, with all the answers, just to get it all out of the way.
That’s one of the things you’ll learn from Number Two on the countdown of the year’s Top Five Nerdist Podcasts of the Year, about which I, the editor of Nerdist.com, am writing this week here at Anglophenia, leading up to Chris Hardwick‘s latest Nerdist special, The Nerdist: Year in Review, airing Saturday night, Christmas Eve, December 24th at 9/8c on BBC America. Tom Wilson joined Chris, Jonah Ray, and Matt Mira and talked about his standup career, his artwork, and, yes, that movie. And he was so charming and funny and awesome that he got his very own podcast on the Nerdist Podcast Network, “Big Pop Fun,” which is also recommended.
