The only truly great episode Davies ever wrote was Midnight – the one on the shuttle when Donna (Catherine Tate) was taking a break for an episode in theat series.
I don’t find this very surprising but it does make me wonder how they can get away with that really crappy intro to every episode. Isn’t it about time BBCA freed the shackles of its viewers (got rid of the intro)?
Anyway, I haven’t been as much of a fan of the show since series 6 started to bore me, but I did pick it up again to watch the latest Christmas special, which I really, really enjoyed.
It’s great to see that with a huge surge in popularity and, most likely, budget, Doctor Who has only become a better version of itself. The structure, the character types, the imagination and the quirky humor and cheese remain. These are what has made this show an enduring classic. I have noticed the improved CG and original compositions for the soundtrack but The Doctor maintains it’s integrity. I’m excited to see what the future holds for us die-hard fans and our many many new companions in fan-dom
I lust love you guys! Thank you for broadcasting here in the USA. Im in love with the DOCTOR! I also like the love they share for Amy. Keep them coming. Please.
Doctor Who is my all time favorite show.I love how it’s different then The David Tennant years, but in a GOOD way.
Not sure what you’re looking for Tracee, but putting the companions in vulnerable and dangerous situations is what Doctor Who has been about since the very first episode in 1963. I’ve watched some of the 1st, all of the 4th Doctor, most of the 5th, parts of the 6th, the 8th and all of 9-11 and the format for the stories has changed very little. For a show that is on it’s 34th season, it remains remarkably unchanged in a way that works brilliantly.
