‘AbFab’
Special Has a
Premiere Date,
Sweeties!

'Absolutely Fabulous': The entire cast returns for new specials.

The dames of debauchery are back, dahlings. We previously announced news that those booze-swilling besties Edina (Jennifer Saunders) and Patsy (Joanna Lumley) would be returning to our screens in three new Absolutely Fabulous specials. Well, TV Guide has announced the premiere date of the first special: Sunday, January 8 at 10/9c on BBC America.

The entire main cast — including Julia Sawalha as Saffy, June Whitfield as Mother, and Jane Horrocks as Bubble — will reprise their roles in the new episodes marking the show’s 20th anniversary. TV Guide reports that, in the premiere, one of the girls returns with “slightly scary new best friend” and “Bubble re-enacts the royal wedding.”

What would you most like to see in the new AbFab?

Jan 8? seriously BBC America?! I was hoping you could redeem your terrible programming schedule by airing the greatest show to come out of Britain since Monty Python on it’s British release date of Dec 25th, but i see not. Yet again American audiences are screwed over by BBC America. Please stop playing marathons of Top Gear and BattleStar Glatica and put on the programming the BBC is known for and American audiences were promised BBC America would be. I’m sick of this.

Wasn’t BBC America a co-producer of this? Couldn’t do better than Jan. 8? Disappointed.

I agree with jenny, I thought this chanell was supposed to be to show the same shows they have in england. but many of them we never get, or only get part of them. like when they showed the mighty boosh here, we only got the first season, they NEVER showed the second season or the third. a lot of shows you must get from netflix because bbc america just won’t show them. like she said we get 10,000 hours of top gear, they don’t even show BBC news on bbc america, we have to go to our local PBS station. there is a show called “man child” that ran for 4 seasons, bbc america doesn’t show it, and on and on

OK. They said that there were going to be 3 special 20th Anniversary episodes. I know I saw 2 of them. I don’t remember the 3rd one ever being shown. Was it? Also, the reruns are suddenly gone from BBC America. What’s up with that? And when they were on they constantly showed the same ones over and over and over and over again. Why couldn’t hey show the series in order from the first episode on? BBC America put Ab Fab back in the line up!!
