Fictional, time-traveling humanoid? Why yes.
Is new NBC president Robert Greenblatt a Whovian? For the second time in as many weeks, one of his sitcoms has nodded to the hit British sci-fi series.
Last week, Community spoofed Doctor Who with their cheeky parody, Inspector Spacetime. And on last night’s Free Agents, PR exec Alex (played by Hank Azaria) mentions that his therapist is named, wait for it, “Dr. Hu.” To which his co-worker responds, “Dr. Who? Your therapist is a fictional, time-traveling humanoid?” Yeah, Whovian world domination is upon us, people. Scroll to around 4:25 for the joke.
(By the way, the original UK Free Agents is set to premiere on BBC America, Saturday, October 8 at 11 pm during the Ministry of Laughs comedy block.)
