New Kate Bush Album Due In November

Kate Bush - "50 Words For Snow"

I don’t know what wonderful thing 2011 has done for Kate Bush, an artist who likes to disappear for long stretches, but it must’ve been something pretty special for her to reward us all this thoroughly.

Back in May she released Director’s Cut, in which she reworked some of the songs from her albums The Sensual World and The Red Shoes. And in interviews she gave at the time, she hinted that there was new material on the way, but gave no suggestion of when it would arrive. This, in the music biz, often means another three or four years of total radio silence.

So it’s an almost total surprise to discover that another album is due to hit the shops on November 21st. It’s called 50 Words For Snow, and it’s a seven-song opus (over an hour long, bargain fans) which is described as being “set against a background of falling snow.”

Nope, I’ve no idea what that means either. The full tracklisting is as follows:

“Snowflake”
“Late Tahoe”
“Misty”
“Wildman”
“Snowed In At Wheeler Street”
“50 Words For Snow”
“Among Angels”

Admit it, some of you are a little disappointed that there aren’t 50 songs, each one of which describes a kind of snow…
