Hugh Laurie: L’Oréal’s New Leading Man
Hugh Laurie
Over the last few years, we’ve seen Beyoncé, Cheryl Cole, Jennifer Lopez and Gwen Stefani lend their famous faces to the L’Oréal cosmetic brand. Gerard Butler has even warned some of the beauty-conscious men to “look sharp, not tired.” And soon enough, Hugh Laurie will be telling all the dudes out there that they’re “worth it.”
The Daily Independent reports that the Golden Globe-winning House star has signed on to be the new ambassador for the L’Oreal Paris Men Expert line. Hey, Laurie is a pretty dapper-looking guy. He can totally pull this off. Cyril Chapuy, global brand president of L’Oréal Paris, thinks he can too, as Laurie is “the perfect example of a modern man: genuine, uninhibited, strong and willing to pursue his passions to the end.”
The English actor was a little surprised when first approached by L’Oréal. He wasn’t sure he was the modeling-kind.
“At first I thought it was a mistake but then I realized that L’Oréal wasn’t looking for models, but real people with strong personalities, who are worth it… and who aren’t afraid to proclaim that using cosmetics can be a very masculine decision after all,” Laurie said.
Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come:
