As countless tennis enthusiasts gear up for Wimbledon this week, a thank you note penned by one special tennis fan, the former Kate Middleton, will be on display at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club’s museum.
London’s Evening Standard reports that back in 2008, when she was still Prince William‘s longtime girlfriend, Kate took in the historical tourney from both Henman Hill and Centre Court without any of the fuss that comes with dating a royal. In return, she sent a lovely letter to the All England Club, thanking them for their assistance.
“My friend and I had such a fantastic time and it was great to be able to enjoy the day knowing we could have a little peace and quiet if things got too hectic,” Middleton wrote.
“It was a wonderfully relaxed day and we even spent part of it on the Henman/Murray Hill which was great fun. I really was not expecting to be looked after with such hospitality and I certainly was not expecting to see any of the Centre Court games. Thank you so much for the wonderful seats. It was so special to see the end of [Andy] Murray‘s game and [Rafael] Nadal‘s easy walk into the quarter finals. Thank you again for making it such a fun and enjoyable/easy visit.”
