Cillian Murphy and Thandie Newton in 'Retreat'
In Retreat, Irish thespian Cillian Murphy and London-born actress Thandie Newton play Martin and Kate, a married couple who seek some personal time on a secluded island. Once settled, they eventually come across an injured soldier named Jack, as played by dapper English actor Jamie Bell, who maintains that a lethal virus is spreading across the European mainland.
The British psychological thriller marks the directorial debut of Carl Tibbetts (Alien vs. Predator) and was shot in Wales. Bell’s part was also previously rumored to belong to David Tennant at one point. Variety confirms that Sony Pictures Worldwide has scooped up the North American rights to the film, but no release dates have been announced.
