WATCH: Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon Impersonate Michael Caine at Tribeca
Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan in 'The Trip'
One of the highlights at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival has been Britain’s Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon doing impersonations of actor Michael Caine in their film The Trip.
Both comedic actors star in the film, which is essentially a compilation of a BBC TV series broadcast last year in the UK.
Coogan and Brydon play combative friends on a restaurant reviewing trip in northern England. Along the way, they entertain themselves with some off-the-cuff impersonations.
By all accounts Michael Caine is a big fan of their work: according to Rob Brydon, the Alfie star said he loved it.
As I discovered when I met them during the festival, it didn’t take much to get Coogan and Brydon to show off their skills.
Tom Brook‘s reports on cinema can be seen every Tuesday and Thursday morning on BBC America.
