Last December, Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish revealed to the world that they had welcomed a son, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, into their family. Since then, the decorated entertainer has gushed a bit about his baby boy whenever visiting the late night talk-show circuit. But come Friday (April 22), in what is their first exclusive interview since the birth of little Zachary, ABC News reports that the new daddies will share how fatherhood has affected their lives with 20/20‘s Barbara Walters.
On top of being a proud papa, John remains a busy, busy guy. He just signed on for a three-year residency at Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace. He and Leon Russell are currently touring the States in support of their latest project, The Union. The two also appeared on Saturday Night Live earlier this month. And as if that’s not all, John will be on hand at the opening of the Tribeca Film Festival today (April 20), where Cameron Crowe‘s documentary on him and Russell’s recent collaboration will have its premiere. He’s changing nappies, too?
I think it’ll be lovely to hear John open up about becoming a first-time dad at 63 and how he and Furnish were able to keep such a personal matter away from the press. They pulled it off brilliantly, didn’t they? By the way, Zachary was recently spotted out and about with his nanny in New York City’s Central Park. What a little cutie!
You can catch John’s in-depth interview with Barbara Walters on ABC’s 20/20 on Friday (April 22) at 10 pm ET.
