Mani Nixes Stone Roses Reunion Rumors
Mani
Earlier today (April 7), we reported that The Stone Roses are probably getting back together.
WRONG!
NME reports that bassist Mani (born Gary Mounfield) has dismissed all speculation surrounding the said reunion. The news about Ian Brown and John Squire having their first friendly chat in ages while attending Mani’s mother’s funeral got things rolling. But Mani is mega pissed that such a situation lead to the notion that a proper jam was in the works.
“I’m disgusted that my personal grief has been invaded and hijacked by these nonsensical stories,” the now-Primal Scream principal said. “Two old friends meeting up after 15 years to pay their respects to my mother does not constitute the reformation of The Stone Roses. Please f*** off and leave it alone. It isn’t true and isn’t happening.”
Well there you go, folks. Perhaps we should cue up “Bye Bye Badman” now:
