Catherine Zeta-Jones Admits to Mental Health Treatment
Catherine Zeta-Jones
Our hearts go out to Catherine Zeta-Jones at this time. People reports that the Academy Award-winning actress recently checked into a mental health center for treatment regarding her bipolar disorder.
“After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II Disorder,” a spokesperson confirmed. “She’s feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films.”
The 41-year-old Welsh-born star and mother of two has certainly been through a lot over the last several months, having watched her husband of 10 years, American actor Michael Douglas, battle and beat throat cancer. Additionally, she has resigned from her patron position with the Swansea Bay Film Festival. A friend went on to tell People that Zeta-Jones only “wanted to make sure she’s in top form” prior to getting back to work. She was just cast in Gabriele Muccino‘s forthcoming soccer-themed comedy, Playing the Field.
Wish you all the best, Catherine!
