Matt Smith in 'Doctor Who'

Who’s cooler, 007 or the Time Lord? We know where Matt Smith stands on the matter.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph about his new BBC movie Christopher and His Kind, the Doctor Who star says that he doesn’t “think he’s handsome enough” to play James Bond. (I know several people who would beg to differ, Sir.) “I think I’m more of a Bond villain,” he offers. “It’d be nice to be the actor that played them both though, wouldn’t it?

But he adds, “The Doctor’s cooler, though. He can time travel, he’s cleverer… Bond’s all right, but he’s not the Doc.”

The Doctor’s ride is also a much more impressive babe magnet than a trite, stodgy luxury vehicle like 007’s Aston Martin. After all, there’s plenty of room in the TARDIS for a Jacuzzi.  (Talk about a “Hot Tub Time Machine”…)

As for Matt Smith’s future on Doctor Who, he says, “Well, I’m going back this year. I guess get another one out the way, see what everyone thinks of that. I
love doing it, I don’t want to give it up anytime soon, put it that way.”

Can you picture Matt Smith as James Bond? Which 007 star would you like to see take a crack at the Doctor?
