The next time you find yourself walking down Hollywood Boulevard, keep your eyes peeled for Dame Helen Mirren‘s hand and footprints.
BBC News reports that the Oscar-winning actress was honored for her extensive body of work on Monday (March 28), which saw Mirren digging her stiletto heels and palms into cement outside of the historical Grauman’s Chinese Theater. Also on hand to mark the occasion was her Arthur co-star Russell Brand. For more on his hilarious speech and other merriment that ensued, BBC News has video!
“There have been three real moments of triumph in my life,” Mirren said. “The first was being made a Dame of the British Empire of which I am enormously proud, second was winning an Oscar and the third was having my hands and feet outside Grauman’s Chinese Theater.”
She added: “I am a Dame of the British Empire but now I’m very proud to say I’m one of the many Dames on Hollywood Boulevard.”
Other female Brits who’ve been immortalized on Hollywood Boulevard include Dame Elizabeth Taylor, Dame Julie Andrews, Jean Simmons, and Hayley Mills. Additionally, Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint left their mark ahead of the U.S. premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in 2007.
