Where does a royal couple go for a little R&R after the wedding of the century? In this week’s Brides Checklist, Brides Magazine deputy editor Sally Kilbridge offers a few sunny getaways that might be perfect for William and Kate.
You can bet that right about now, Kate and Will are looking forward to the honeymoon just like eighth-graders waiting for the last day of school. A couple of sunny, sexy, stress-free weeks spent recovering from all the wedding hoopla — now, that’s the ticket.
Our money is on one of Britain’s Caribbean territories, like Mustique (beloved by Princess Margaret and other royals), the British Virgins (perhaps Richard Branson‘s super-private Necker Island, where Diana used to hang), or the Turks & Caicos (known for Zen-like spas and five-star resorts).
So, just a couple of things left to do. Like organizing the details: plane tickets (chartered flight, we would imagine), passports (even heirs to the throne need photo ID), and villa reservations (they’ll be traveling with an entourage). And then of course there’s the packing. They’ll want the standard trousseau of bikinis and board shorts, sarongs and polos, Havianas and sunscreen. But what about those honeymoon extras? Will they pack bathrobes embroidered “Babykins” and “Big Willie”? Only airport security will know for sure.
