We can never get enough of Russell Brand. And in 2011, the 35-year-old British comedian will certainly create quite the cackle on the silver screen with upcoming roles in Arthur and this April’s Hop. He’s also rumored to be playing Lonnie in the film adaptation of the Tony-nominated musical Rock of Ages. Please, please let this be true!
But lucky for us, it looks like we’ll get our Brand fix sooner than later. According to Entertainment Weekly, the Get Him to the Greek star will make his Saturday Night Live hosting debut on February 12. And if Brand is up to his usual tricks, this should be positively scandalous on so many levels. He took to Twitter on Tuesday (February 1) to tease his upcoming appearance.
“I am hosting Saturday Night Live, Feb 12th. If you have any sketches/jokes please send. Remember, I will ONLY play drug addicts.”
We’re also kind of hoping that Brand’s missus Katy Perry, who performed during the Season 36 opener last September, will make a surprise cameo. Hey, it’s not that far-fetched of an idea, am I right?
