Ewan McGregor Set for ‘Jack the Giant Killer’?

With blogosphere tongues still wagging over the British Invasion that’s currently taking over Hollywood, Bryan Singer‘s forthcoming fantasy drama, Jack the Giant Killer, is somewhat following suit.
As previously reported, UK Skins actor Nicholas Hoult will star as Jack. British thespian Bill Nighy will also appear alongside John Kassir and Stanley Tucci.
Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Ewan McGregor is in talks to join the film. The 39-year-old Scottish actor is reportedly eyeing a role that will see him as “the leader of the king’s elite guard, who helps fight giants.”
Eleanor Tomlinson is rumored to be considered for the part of the princess. The English actress played Eve in a few episodes of the Doctor Who spin-off, The Sarah Jane Adventures. She also portrayed Fiona Chattaway in Tim Burton‘s Alice in Wonderland in 2010.
Work on Jack the Giant Killer, which culls from the English children’s story, Jack and the Beanstalk, is slated to get underway next month.
