David Walliams Wants Tennant and Tate for Take That Parody
Gigwise reports that David Walliams stopped by BBC Radio 2’s Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Friday (February 4) to discuss his forthcoming Comic Relief plans. The English comedian of Little Britain fame revealed that he will participate in a Take That tribute spoof called Fake That, set to air March 18 on the BBC.
“I think we’re going to do a song with Take That. It’s myself, James Corden [and] some other people to be confirmed.”
When Evans inquired who Walliams — who fancies himself to play Howard Donald — would like to have on board, he giddily confessed that he’d like to see English chat show host Alan Carr play Mark Owen, while comedienne Catherine Tate would be great because “she’s brilliant at playing men.” Ex-Doctor Who star David Tennant might also step in. This sounds absolutely hysterical. Hmmmm, maybe he’d make a great Robbie Williams?
His Little Britain cohort Matt Lucas is slated to be involved, as is Gavin & Stacey‘s James Corden. “I think he has to be Gary Barlow because he’s sort of like how Gary Barlow used to look in the fallow period of before reforming Take That,” Walliams said of Corden.
In other Walliams news, Anglotopia says Walliams has landed a guest starring role in Season 6 of Doctor Who. No further details have been announced, but he previously appeared in a few Doctor Who Night “sketches” in 1999.
