The "other" Kate Middleton

Weeks ago, it was reported that retailers exploiting Kate Middleton‘s name could face lawsuits from the royal family. Now, apparently, simply being born with the name “Kate Middleton” can get you jettisoned from Facebook.

According to The Sun, a 30-year-old British office worker was kicked off the site and only got her account re-activated when those Good Samaritans from the UK tabloid stepped in to verify her identity.

The lesser known Ms. Middleton said she attempt to log into the site and “was directed to a help page that explained her account had been registered in a fake name.”

“I was absolutely gobsmacked,” she told The Sun.

“It was ridiculous because they obviously thought I was trying to impersonate Prince William‘s Kate Middleton.

“But the profile picture is of me – and I clearly look nothing like her. Besides, William’s Kate is not even on Facebook.”

The kicker? Her boyfriend’s name is Jonathan Ross. “He hasn’t had any bother,” Ms. Middleton says.
