On Tuesday (January 18), a picture from this summer’s X-Men: First Class surfaced on the web, but its authenticity has yet to be verified by Fox Studios. The photo was originally posted on MSN and it was snatched up by several sites before being taken off the site a few hours later. The latest buzz — as seen at The Hollywood Reporter — suggests that the picture is legitimate, but was leaked prematurely. Regardless, it’s still one heck of a class picture!
The Matthew Vaughn-directed prequel to the original franchise features an all-star cast, including Brits like James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, and Jason Flemyng as Azazel. Former Hex actor Michael Fassbender also co-stars as Magneto. Set during the 1960s, First Class will tell the story of Xavier and Magneto’s early friendship and their fight against the evil Hellfire Club. The classic blue and yellow costumes fit nicely with this retro setting. Keep an eye out for more on the June 3 release!
