SyFy is playing a leap-frog marathon of British fantasy films. At 5:30pm and 11pm, you’ll want to grab your daemon and direct your attention to The Golden Compass, starring Ian McKellen, Daniel Craig, and Freddie Highmore. Then, at 8pm and 1:30am, set sail for Narnia with The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

Are your kids guaranteed coal in their stockings this weekend? Just follow the example of Emma Thompson’s Nanny McPhee and they’ll be on the top of the Nice List in no time!

Friday, December 24

Start your Christmas Eve Day with a dash of magic as HBO2 plays Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince this afternoon at 2:30.

Curl up next to the yule log with your sweetie and watch all your favorite British romantics (including Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Keira Knightley, Emma Thompson, and Alan Rickman) celebrate the holidays in Love Actually at 8pm on Lifetime.

IFC doesn’t want you to take things too seriously this holiday season as they play the ridiculous classic comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail tonight at 9.

If you’re looking to do some family Bond-ing, you’re in luck! Bravo will be airing Casino Royale tonight at 8 and 11, while TMC will be showing Quantum of Solace at 8pm.

Saturday, December 25

Tonight at 9, BBCA will be delivering the best present of all: the Doctor Who Christmas special, appropriately titled Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol. The episode features guest appearances by Michael Gambon and Katherine Jenkins and promises to be a delightful Christmas treat. Afterwards, stick around to see Matt Smith on Graham Norton’s couch at 10:15!
