No Botox for Carey Mulligan
In an interview for the January issue of British Elle, Mulligan said she inquired about a few pesky lines underneath her eyes. Much to her surprise, a doctor suggested, "We'll just drop some Botox in here and here…" Mulligan was aghast!
"So I can’t move my face? Isn't that the antithesis of what I'm trying to do as an actress? Only in LA would someone try and give you Botox when you're 25 years old," Mulligan recalled.
When it comes to revealing, uh, more skin on film or on the red carpet, Mulligan is quite modest. Being "sexy" isn't quite her thing. "'I've never felt like a sexy person… I’ve always felt like a sensible person. I’ve always felt absurd wearing anything revealing."
She added: "I'm not trying to sell myself as a visual. I'm selling my willingness to play a part really well. If your body doesn't look normal, how can you convey normal people, how can you be relatable?"
Keepin' it real, Carey! That's why we adore you!
As previously reported, Mulligan will star as Daisy Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann's (Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet) upcoming adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's prized novel, The Great Gatsby.
