New William and Kate Engagement Photos Released

Two official engagement photos of Prince William and Kate Middleton have been released. The much-anticipated snaps were taken by the famed Peruvian-born photographer Mario Testino, a favorite of the royal family whose subjects have included the late Princess Diana. One photo is fun and casual, the other poised and formal, but both appear to show the couple beaming and looking very much in love.

BBC News reports that the two-hour shoot took place in the council chamber of the prince’s state apartment. “In the formal shot, Miss Middleton wore a white Reiss dress, Links earrings and Diana’s engagement ring given to her by the prince.

“He was dressed in a dark Turnbull and Asser suit, with blue tie and a white shirt.

BBC News adds, “They both wore jeans in the more casual pose, with William in a shirt and Cucinelli jumper and his fiancée in a white Whistles blouse.”
