Gemma Arterton Lands Lead in Robert Capa Biopic

Gemma Arterton

Total Film reveals that the fabulous Gemma Arterton will star in a forthcoming biopic on Hungarian-born war photojournalist Robert Capa.

“…I’m aiming for even more diversity,” the 24-year old brunette beauty said of the part.

According to NME, Arterton will portray fellow photographer Gerda Taro, who had a two-year relationship with Capa during the Spanish Civil War. Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield has apparently signed on to play the legendary Capa. Michael Mann (The Aviator, Public Enemies) will serve as director.

Garfield and Arterton would make a sizzling on-screen couple, don’t you think? Let us not forget that she wowed us in 2010 with roles in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time with Jake Gyllenhaal and played the foxy title character in Tamara Drewe. It looks like twenty-eleven might be another blockbuster year for her.

“This year’s been intense, but next year’s going to be… intenser!” Arterton laughed. “I’m attached to about nine projects but I’m not sure which one’s I’m allowed to talk about.”
