‘Tis the season for love! First Lily Allen gets engaged, now James Corden has proposed to his lady love, Julia Carey!

According to The Daily Mirror, the Gavin & Stacey star popped the question on Christmas Day while the two were vacationing in the Maldives. Corden was quite charming in his approach, too: he hid the ring in her stocking. Awwwww!

“James has been plotting the proposal for four months and wanted it to be perfect,” said a source. “He did the traditional thing and asked Jules’s father for his blessing first, which he received.”

A source also revealed: “James loves Christmas, it’s always been his favorite day of the year. Consequently he decided to propose on December 25, when Jules was least expecting it. He had a ring specially cut – a gorgeous diamond baguette – and put it in a box at the bottom of her stocking, right next to the satsuma and chocolate coins.”

In September, Corden and Carey announced that they were expecting their first child, which is due in the spring. But the doting dad-to-be is already gearing up for a proper stag celebration. The Daily Mail reports that the British funnyman is planning a four-week bachelor extravaganza and has requested that his pals, including Dominic Cooper and David Beckham, mark it on their calendars.
