David Hasselhoff Coming to ‘Britain’s Got Talent’?
Apparently, the former Knight Rider and Baywatch star could sign on for more than $777,000 (£500,000). Seems mighty light for the 58-year-old press-lovin’ television icon, whose battle with booze forced him to step down from his previous role as judge on America’s Got Talent earlier this year.
Hasselhoff — who was the first contestant cut on BBC Worldwide’s Dancing with the Stars this past season — is said to be thrilled over his supposed Britain’s Got Talent prospects. He’s already making himself at home in the UK, too. He’s set to portray the wicked Captain Hook in the pantomime version of Peter Pan in London’s West End starting December 10.
“He is popular in the UK and loves the country, so for him it is a dream opportunity,” said a source. “You might say it’s ironic Simon asked David to replace him after he was dropped in America. But they are great pals and David is really looking forward to the auditions.”
As Cowell sets his sights on developing the American X Factor and fellow judge Piers Morgan moves on to CNN, Amanda Holden is the sole judge left.
Do you think David Hasselhoff should be a panelist on Britain’s Got Talent?
