Scottish singer/songwriter Annie Lennox took to the Live! with Regis and Kelly stage on Tuesday (December 14) to perform select tunes from her new holiday album, A Christmas Cornucopia.
While Lennox delivered a flawless performance of “See Amid the Winter’s Snow,” Digital Spy reports that the former Eurythmics chanteuse botched the start of “The Holly and the Ivy” at the close of the show. Remember when Susan Boyle gaffed “O Holy Night” on The View last month? Kind of like that.
Poor Annie. Just minutes before, she admitted to show hosts Kelly Ripa and Regis Philbin that she’s been at this long enough that nerves don’t really play a part anymore.
“I used to get really badly nervous, but I’ve been through so many things now. There’s no point,” Lennox said. “I think there comes a point when you’re a performer and you have to get over your stage fright and you really have to enjoy the moment… Why be nervous?”
