Last night (November 8), Ricky Gervais offered some amusing well wishes to American talk show host Conan O'Brien, whose long-awaited return to late night television finally arrived with the premiere of Conan on TBS.

Gervais' signature dry sarcasm was spot on during the show's opening sequence, and he followed his somewhat witty accolades with additional ones that could come in handy in the future, haha. Here's a look:

In other Gervais news, it seems that the British writer and comedian recently crashed an interview with Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis, who were promoting their latest comedy film, Due Date, on ITV's Daybreak in the UK.

Gervais provided entertainment editor Kate Garraway with a new set of funny questions for the American actors, while Gervais offered his comedic expertise on how Downey and Galifianakis should highlight their humorous side when answering.

"As you know, I'm sort of in charge of comedy entertainment in Great Britain, so I've got to make sure everything goes to plan," Gervais quipped to the acting duo.

"Ricky emailed me, he knew I was going to be in town and said, 'Look, I really need to get on television again, this is my last ditch effort to get on top' – this is it, this is a sad attempt.'" Galifianakis added. (Monsters and Critics)

Well done, Ricky, well done!
