Torchwood’ Star John Barrowman Goes ‘Dancing’

Torchwood‘s John Barrowman will slip into his boogie shoes to compete in the one-off Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special, which is expected to air in the UK on Christmas Day. The actor, who played omnisexual Captain Jack Harkness on both Doctor Who and Torchwood, tells The Sun: “I’m ecstatic – I’ve watched ‘Strictly’ since the first series. I am looking forward to the challenge as it’s so different to any of the dancing I’ve done in musicals. But more than anything I am so looking forward to the costumes.

“I can guarantee this – there will be sequins.”

Barrowman is a musical theater veteran, with to The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, and Sunset Boulevard among his many credits. Will his experience treading the boards give him a leg up on the competition? We already know Mr. Barrowman has some serious moves:

The UK original Strictly Come Dancing was re-branded and re-launched in the States as the mega-popular Dancing with the Stars, which is currently in its eleventh season on ABC. DWTSLen Goodman and Bruno Tonioli pull double duty as judges on both the UK and American versions.

How well do you think John Barrowman will do on Strictly Come Dancing?
