Inbetweeners’ Stars to Debut New Sitcom
Simon Ward, who plays the bespectacled cynic Will and Joe Thomas, who portrays the sweet yet sarcastic Simon, are set to premiere their new Channel 4 sitcom, Chickens, which the comedy pair co-wrote.
The BBC reports that Ward and Thomas, alongside Edinburgh Comedy Awards’ Best Newcomer Jonny Sweet, will explore the perils of being left behind in their English Village while their peers face off the Western Front during World War I. It's set to debut early next year.
"We're really excited to be working with Channel 4 on our first sitcom,” Bird said. "It's a dream come true for us and we can't wait to get started."
The BAFTA Award-winning comedy, as seen on BBC America, will see a MTV remake for American audiences with series creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris at the helm.
