New Trailer: Emily Blunt, Bill Nighy, Rupert Grint in “Wild Target”
Bill Nighy and Emily Blunt – Golden Globe winners for playing father and daughter in the BBC AMERICA movie Gideon’s Daughter – have re-teamed for the new British comedy, Wild Target, which will finally be released in the U.S. on October 29th. (It hit theaters in the UK back in June.) Nighy plays a hitman who becomes unusually protective of his target, a con artist played by Blunt. Once you get Gideon’s Daughter out of your head and look past the icky implications, they actually make a rather sexy pair.
The story sounds abhorrently cliché – and the film is being absolutely pulverized so far on Rotten Tomatoes – but the cast is pretty solid: you have the surprisingly strapping Harry Potter star Rupert Grint as Nighy’s young apprentice. You have Martin Freeman and Rupert Everett making funny faces, and look, there’s Dame Eileen Atkins looking very un-Cranford-like.

Here’s the trailer for 2006′s Gideon’s Daughter, which features Nighy as a big-time publicist trying to mend his broken relationship with his forlorn, resentful daughter (Blunt):
