British Emmy Nominee: Archie Panjabi from ‘The Good Wife’

The Primetime Emmy awards are just 13 days away. Shall we look at a few of the nominees with accents?

Today we start with the London-born Archie Panjabi, an Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series contender for her work as sexy, leather-clad PI Kalinda on the courtroom drama, The Good Wife. I’m actually quite shocked that Panjabi was nominated, not because she’s undeserving, but because her work is not at all showy. (That’s probably the reason why she’s not expected to win.) Check out a clip from the show – and someone hire her as a femme fatale, quick:

Here are Panjabi’s fellow nominees, which include a Good Wife co-star:

Christine Baranski, The Good Wife
Rose Byrne, Damages
Sharon Gless, Burn Notice
Christina Hendricks, Mad Men
Elisabeth Moss, Mad Men

BBCA fans already know Ms. Panjabi from the original Life on Mars as Sam Tyler’s girlfriend Maya a.k.a. “the disembodied voice.” Glad to see she’s broken through in the States.
